With the long whistle, a freight train carrying 35 large containers of Guizhou tire products departed from Guiyang International Land Port and headed for Guangzhou Port Nansha Port. At the same time, a freight train carrying household appliances such as dishwashers and water dispensers departed from Guangzhou Port Nansha Port and headed for Guiyang International Land Port. After connecting with the China-Europe Express at Guiyang International Land Port, it will be transported to Volshino, Russia. This scene, which took place on August 27 this year, not only marked the opening of Guiyang International Land Port, but also meant that the Guizhou-Guangdong Grand Channel was officially opened.
"The construction of the inland port is equivalent to moving the extension of our Guangzhou Port to Guiyang International Land Port and moving the company's outlet to Guizhou." Zhou Xiaolong, director of the Logistics Operation Center of the Production Business Department of Guangzhou Port Co., Ltd., said that the core of the dry port lies in the support of stable foreign trade freight volume. Guizhou is the traditional source of goods for Guangzhou Port. According to statistics, 70% of Guizhou's foreign trade goods enter and exit through ports in Guangdong Province. In recent years, the trend of industrial transfer to Guizhou has been relatively obvious, and the demand for foreign trade imports and exports has been strong. Once Guiyang International Land Port and Guangzhou Port start running sea-rail intermodal trains on a regular basis, it will only take 48 hours to travel from Guiyang to Guangzhou, and they will actively integrate into the new development pattern of domestic and international dual circulation.

"The opening of Guiyang International Land Port is not only about channel construction, but will also bring about the upgrading of trade formats, opening the door to let the sea breeze in." Ma Lei, Director of the Guizhou Provincial Department of Commerce and Director of the Provincial Investment Promotion Bureau, said that Guiyang International Land Port not only brings about a substantial reduction in logistics and time costs, but more importantly, it plays an important role in promoting the construction of an open economy and optimizing the industrial structure. It can gradually form an ecosystem for the entire industrial chain of bulk commodities covering one-stop service for international trade, direct access to one order, port loading and unloading, logistics distribution, commercial insurance and other links, and quickly form a port economic circle that attracts investment and drives the growth of the regional outward-oriented economy.
The reporter noticed that since the beginning of this year, freight trains from Guiyang Gaimao Freight Station to Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Zhanjiang ports have been running on a regular basis. "Most of our raw materials rely on the supply of enterprises in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, which were previously mainly transported by road. The operation of Guizhou-Guangdong trains has changed the single road transportation mode, improved the cargo transportation capacity and safety, and reduced resource consumption and time consumption." said the person in charge of Guiyang Hisense Electronics Co., Ltd.
China-Laos railways are connected, cross-border transit is better connected
On November 17, a China-Europe freight train loaded with radiators, screw air compressors and other goods departed from Guiyang International Land Port and went through the Alashankou Port in Xinjiang to Vorchino, Russia. This is the 33rd China-Europe freight train departing from Guizhou.
One year ago, Guizhou launched its first direct China-Europe train. In order to give full play to the role of the land corridor, Guizhou has strengthened its capacity allocation and transportation organization, and continuously improved the quality and efficiency of train operations. The number of trains has been upgraded from a temporary plan of 2 trains per month to a scheduled 4 trains per month, and the types of cargo transportation have become increasingly diversified.
On this basis, Guizhou has also promoted the integration of various trains to create convenient, fast, safe, stable, green and economical international logistics and transportation services. In May this year, a China-Europe train loaded with 50 standard containers departed from Guiyang and headed for Budapest, Hungary. Some of the goods were transshipped from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, via the China-Laos Railway to Guiyang, and then took this China-Europe train directly to Europe.
This test run created three other firsts: it was the first time that goods from southern Vietnam attempted to reach Europe directly via the China-Laos Railway via mainland China, opening up a new channel to cope with the continued rise in sea transportation; it was the first consecutive test of the adaptability of the customs of China, Vietnam and Laos to the RCEP policies, all of which were carried out with zero tariffs and fast passage; and it was the first time that a company from mainland China and a world-renowned transportation company joined forces to carry out a relay operation across eight countries.
Yang Changming, director of the Guiyang Comprehensive Bonded Zone Commerce Bureau, introduced that the comprehensive bonded zone + international land port mode ensures the "fast entry and exit, high-quality entry and exit" of international goods. The local area will tap the advantages and potential of the "zone-port linkage" model, and focus on the construction of customs supervision work places, international land ports and other functions.
Tang Junsong, general manager of Guizhou Multimodal Transport Industry Development Co., Ltd., said that the connection between the China-Laos Railway and the China-Europe Express will promote Guiyang to become a cargo distribution center in Southeast Asia, which will play a positive role in promoting Guizhou to become a hub connecting Southeast Asia and Europe, and lay a good foundation for Guizhou to build a new inland open economic highland.
It is understood that Guizhou is currently further promoting the stable through-operation of the China-Laos Railway international freight trains and the China-Europe express trains, further accelerating the connection with the Western Land-Sea Corridor and the Guizhou-Guangdong Corridor, helping to widen the road of opening up and build the "channel economy" into a "hub economy."
